Most of the electricity comes from fossil-fuels. Today, the demand of electricity is increasing where as the reserves of the fossil-fuel are depleting every day. So, one must begin considering the cost of solar power energy for the home. The demand for solar power is more since it is derived from natural resource like sunlight which is available in abundance. For centuries, solar heating was used, but today it the demand for solar electricity. Taiwan has recently opened officially its first fully solar powered stadium. Solar systems designed to replace electrical usage are now catching on in a very big way.
Concept of Solar Energy
The concept of using solar power energy for homes has come a long way in a relatively short period of time. Solar Technology converts the sunlight into electricity through solar cells. The generated power can be used directly or stored in containers for further use to run various applications like computers, dishwasher, icemaker, tubelights,TV,fans etc. One of the major doubts that most of the people are what is the cost of solar energy? Is it of high value or low priced? Some information can be shared regarding this.
One of the major issues with the cost of solar energy has been that it costs more than electricity that is generated by conventional means. The Sun’s energy is free but the technology used to convert it to electricity is very costly. The cost of solar power for one unit is Rs 15 while it costs just Rs 1.coal is 19 per unit. The cost of solar energy varies on the amount of power that is required by the consumer. To get more power, the cost increases on purchasing the bigger solar panels. The Price of a good home made solar water heater system is $14000. The monthly bill for heating hot water can be reduced upto 50-100%. It costs around cost about $700 to $1000 to take a solar energy system big enough to power a computer and a few other small items.
- How much do I spend?
- What needs do I have?
- What solar power energy system will provide what I need?
- What alternatives are available - wind, solar panel, or split grid?
The cost of solar power for your home depends on how much energy in kilowatt-hours (kWh) do you use per month. Investing by Dollars per Watt is the best way to choose solar panels. 3-5 percent drop in prices of photovoltaic panels was seen at a steady rate per year during this decade. However, prices may not seem all that low to you, because in general the technology is getting better, so each panel is making more watts than those of a few years ago. Because of strong demand for large photovoltaic installations around the world, there has been a general shortage of new panels. PV Panels can be seen from local newspaper classifieds. The Banks & Government provides loan facilities for purchasing solar lighting and heating systems. Just like other household items, the insurance company will also insure solar panels if they have purchased to install at house.
Now solar enterprises are spreading the awareness on the huge potential demand for solar batteries in the domestic market supported by government and implementing low priced solar technology. Fossil fuel reserves generate energy to countries as long resources are there, but the energy of sun is limitless for several generations that may come. The Future will soon have vast solar farms generating cheaper electricity for the entire cities without emitting any pollution.
